Top Lineups in NBA 2/09/2022

The graphic above highlights the top 5 lineup combinations in the NBA this season based on net points per 100 possessions. Net points are the number of points scored more than points allowed. So any number that is positive is good any number negative is bad. For this stat, I filtered out any lineup combinations that played under 30 minutes together. After the top 5 teams were determined I noticed some similarities. Each lineup combination has-

• One guy who can get 8.5+ rebounds

• 2-3 35% or better 3 Point shooters

• An elite defensive anchor

• An elite passer/playmaker

This shows that in the modern NBA it is important to have shooters to space the floor, a star defender, and an elite playmaker who can get the ball to the shooters. I wonder if in the future the teams that make it far will resemble similar lineup combinations to these.
